🚨HUGE: G7 nations officially sign off on drills for AI-driven cyberattacks on their financial systems.

Japan’s Finance Minister Satsuki Katayama says G7 finance leaders agreed to run “tabletop exercises on frontier AI.”

The simulations will test how authorities respond to AI-driven attacks, and private financial institutions may take part.

The results will be used to check existing protocols and revise response manuals, per Reuters.

The plan was agreed at G7 talks on the sidelines of the IMF’s annual meetings in Bangkok.
